The First Lady of Kogi State, Hajia Sefinat Ahmed Ododo, has congratulated children across the state on the occasion of the 2026 Children’s Day celebration, describing them as the true treasure and hope of the future.
In her Children’s Day message, the First Lady stated that children remain humanity’s greatest blessing and the most important investment for a brighter tomorrow.
She explained that Children’s Day goes beyond celebration, stressing that it also serves as a reminder of the collective duty of parents, governments, schools, religious bodies, and society to properly nurture, educate, protect, and guide children into becoming responsible adults.
According to her, every child deserves love, access to quality education, healthcare, protection from abuse, and equal opportunities to develop their talents and achieve their God-given potential.
Hajia Sefinat Ododo expressed delight over the creativity, brilliance, resilience, and talents displayed by children across Kogi State, assuring them that the administration of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo remains committed to programmes and policies aimed at improving their welfare and securing a better future.

She reminded them that they possess the potential to become future leaders, innovators, professionals, and nation builders.
“As we celebrate our children today, let us renew our commitment to building a society where every child can live peacefully, learn safely, and grow with confidence and hope. Our children remain the pride of today and the foundation of tomorrow’s greatness,” she said.
