The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT)has commemorated the International Day of Charity, restating its commitment to humanitarian service, social justice, and community welfare across Nigeria and beyond.
The global Islamic organization said the day offers an opportunity to reflect on its decades-long tradition of compassion, generosity, and targeted interventions that have continued to transform lives.
A major highlight of the celebration is the work of the NASFAT Agency for Zakat and Sadaqah (NAZAS), the society’s flagship intervention platform.
According to the General Manager of NAZAS, Alhaji Mufutau Adelotan,the agency has in over 12 years distributed charitable support worth almost ₦1 billion to beneficiaries.
The interventions cover zakat, sadaqah, educational support, healthcare, economic empowerment, humanitarian relief, and other life-changing programs.
“This outstanding achievement reflects NASFAT’s dedication to translating Islamic principles of charity into measurable social impact,” Alhaji Adelotan stated.
NASFAT noted that its charity drive goes beyond giving, focusing on programmes that promote dignity, inclusion, and sustainable growth.
Through support for indigent students, widows, orphans, vulnerable families, and budding entrepreneurs, the society said it has shown that charity is a powerful tool for building stronger and more prosperous communities.
The President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf, appreciated members, donors, volunteers, and stakeholders whose contributions have sustained the mission.
He said the successes recorded by NAZAS align with NASFAT’s vision of a caring society where collective responsibility and selfless service drive national development and social cohesion.
Also speaking, the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Marufdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, offered prayers for increased blessings on all philanthropists and supporters of humanitarian causes.
He urged Muslims and people of goodwill to embrace charity as a lifelong commitment, noting that “every act of giving strengthens the bonds of humanity and advances the noble values of compassion, hope, justice, and shared prosperity.”
