The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, has intensified efforts to bolster inter-agency cooperation through a series of strategic courtesy visits to key security institutions in the state.
Accompanied by members of his management team, the CP on Monday, April 20, 2026, visited the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Delta State Command.
He subsequently extended similar visits on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, to the Nigeria Immigration Service and the Nigeria Correctional Service in the state.
During the engagements, CP Oyeniyi emphasized the critical role of intelligence in modern policing, noting that effective security management depends largely on timely and actionable information.
He stressed that strong collaboration among security agencies remains essential, commending the existing synergy between the Nigeria Police Force and other agencies in sustaining peace and security across Delta State.
The CP also drew attention to prevailing security concerns, including cultism, kidnapping, communal clashes, human trafficking, and drug-related offences.
He highlighted the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation, particularly in the lead-up to forthcoming elections, and assured stakeholders of his commitment to leveraging the experience and institutional knowledge of officers and partner agencies to enhance security operations.
In their responses, the heads of the respective agencies reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration. The DSS Director noted that intelligence gathering is a shared responsibility that requires collective effort.
At the Nigeria Immigration Service, the CP was received by the State Comptroller, G.C. Ozodinobi, psc, while the State Controller of the Nigeria Correctional Service, CC Chuke Chike Idoko, received him at the correctional facility.
Both officials commended the Commissioner of Police for the initiative, stressing that no single agency can independently tackle the complex security challenges of today.
They reiterated that cooperation and coordinated efforts remain the most effective means of ensuring public safety.
The visits underscore a unified commitment among security agencies in Delta State to deepen collaboration, strengthen intelligence sharing, and collectively maintain peace, law, and order across the state.
