Ejigbo, Lagos — The political atmosphere in Ejigbo Local Council Development Area was charged on Saturday as the Ndigbo in APC Sterling Committee, Ejigbo Chapter, staged a massive endorsement rally for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, vowing to mobilize 15 million votes for the party.

The event, which brought together, party leaders,Igbo elders, women leaders, youth stakeholders, market association leaders and ward coordinators from across Ejigbo, was a strong demonstration of unity and loyalty to the progressive family.

The endorsement was witnessed by the Secretary to the Ejigbo LCDA, Hon. Otuyemisi who represented the Executive Chairman, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), and the Secretary of the APC in Ejigbo, Hon. Lekan Musa.

Addressing journalists at the press conference, the Leader of the Committee, Hon. Nelly Okafor, said after wide consultations across Ifoshi, Aigbaka,Ilamoshe, Oke-Afa, Ailegun and Ejigbo Central wards, Ndigbo in Ejigbo have unanimously resolved to work, campaign and vote 100% for APC.

She listed the endorsed candidates as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reelection, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat (KOH)as Governorship Candidate of Lagos State,Senator Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule(or re-election as Senator, Lagos West), Hon. Monsurudeen Bello Obe as House of Representatives Candidate, Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II and Hon. Ladi Ajomale for re-election as House of Assembly Member, Ejigbo Constituency.

Hon. Okafor said the endorsement was informed by performance, not sentiment, noting that President Tinubu has run the most inclusive government in recent history,he is a true nationalist and father of modern Lagos.

“His Renewed Hope Agenda is fixing our roads, supporting MSMEs and restoring confidence in the economy,” she said.

On the Lagos governorship candidate, she described Dr. Kadri Hamzat as a tested technocrat and loyal party man whose 100-point agenda, The Lagos Promise (Ileri Eko), is a practical roadmap for grassroots transformation.

“KOH’s Ileri Eko blueprint gives special attention to MSMEs, traders, artisans, market development, healthcare and education – which is the backbone of Ndigbo enterprise.

It also emphasizes synergy between state and local governments and a public accountability scorecard. That is transparency and excellent leadership,” she added.

The Coordinator of Ndigbo in APC Steering Committee,Hon  Dr. Vivian Sunshine Obi, delivered a powerful message of peace as the foundation for development.

“Nothing can be achieved without peace. Government does not know tribe, government knows Nigerians.

If we use antics to destabilize what this government is doing, it will affect everybody – our businesses, our families, our future,” she warned.

Dr. Sunshine clarified that Ndigbo in APC is not a faction but an integral affiliate organ of the party.

“Ndigbo in APC is not a faction, we are the party. We are part of the party. Registration for APC this time is over 10 million.

With the structure of Ndigbo joining together in Ejigbo alone, we are going to achieve at least 15 million votes to make sure APC succeeds.

APC is not for Yoruba alone. It is a platform for all Nigerians. We must all come together,as President Tinubu has given Ndigbo a sense of belonging through strategic appointments, including an Igbo son as Minister of Works, and landmark initiatives like the South-East Development Commission and NELFUND student loan scheme.

“NELFUND does not know Yoruba, does not know Igbo. It is for every Nigerian child. President Tinubu is not tribalistic”she declared.

She also said Igbo presidency is realistic if Ndigbo remain organized and align with the centre.

“Only South-East cannot produce President alone. We must bargain, we must align. Southwest is taking the lead now which President Tinubu will complete. By the time we are strong and aligned, Igbo presidency will be realistic,” she said

Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Otuyemisi commended Ndigbo in Ejigbo for their loyalty and peaceful coexistence.

She said the Ejigbo LCDA is proud of the collaboration between Yorubas and Igbos in the council area.

“This gathering is a clear example of what Ejigbo represents – unity in diversity. Yorubas and Igbos in Ejigbo are collaborators and work together in everything done here. We help each other.

If Igbos come to government, we answer them and carry them along. We have no problem with Igbos and Igbos have no problem with us,” Hon. Oluyemisi stated.

She added: “On behalf of the Mayor, I want to appreciate Ndigbo for standing with our party. Ejigbo is your home and this government will continue to protect your businesses and interests.

My message to everyone in Ejigbo is to ensure we collect our PVCs and vote for all APC candidates from President Tinubu to Hon. Ladi Ajomale.”

Also speaking, the Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ejigbo LGA, Hon. Lekan Musa, who led the party executives to the venue on behalf of the LGA Chairman, Hon. Omoniyi Ismail, described the endorsement as historic and reassuring.

“Today you have shown that Ndigbo are not visitors in Ejigbo, you are stakeholders and bonafide members of APC. This endorsement from your Sterling Committee is not just words, it is backed by structure in all wards,” Hon. Musa said.

He assured the group that the party will continue to carry Ndigbo along in its programmes and give them a voice in decision-making.

“For your loyalty, APC will not forget you. Go from here and mobilize your people. Tell them APC is the only party that guarantees continuity, prosperity and safety of investments in Lagos.

From President Bola Tinubu to Dr. Kadri Hamzat, we have candidates who are competent, tested and trusted. Victory in 2027 is sure,” he added.

Answering questions from Journalists, Hon. Mrs.Okafor, said Ndigbo in Lagos understand the principle of loyalty to their hosts

“In Lagos, where you stay, you protect. Lagos State has accommodated and provided convenience for our businesses, children and families for 20 to 40 years.

You cannot be greater than your landlord. We must always be submissive and walk in line with our landlords, the Yorubas, who have welcomed us. That is how we protect our investments,” she said

The Committee announced that immediately after the press conference, its members will roll out a massive door-to-door, shop-to-shop and street-to-street campaign across Ejigbo Central Market, Jakande Market, Ile-Iwe and all Igbo-dominated business clusters.

“We will speak to our people in Igbo, in English and in Pidgin. We will explain why APC is the only party that guarantees safety of lives, businesses and future in Lagos,” Hon. Okafor said.

“We have our PVCs and we will vote. Lagos is our home and APC is our party. We pledge our unalloyed loyalty, our votes and our resources to ensure total victory for APC in 2027,” the communique concluded.
