Lokoja ,Kogi–Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has called on the Apostolic Church to continue praying for peace, unity and the greatness of Kogi State.
The Governor made the appeal on Sunday at the maiden convention of the Apostolic Church, Lokongoma Area, Lokoja. 
He was represented by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
Ododo said his administration is repositioning Kogi to become a hub for development and investment in Nigeria, in line with the theme of the convention.
“Our state is accepting the charge to arise and shine. In a couple of years, we will have an International Airport, and in a couple of months we will launch a safer and more commercially viable Ultra-modern Market,” he stated.
The Governor listed ongoing projects to include the construction of schools, Primary Healthcare Centres, hospitals, roads and other social amenities.
“We are transforming education and healthcare. We are building infrastructure and our civil servants are happy with this administration,” he added.
As part of support for the convention, Governor Ododo announced a donation of *N5 million and also presented an SUV for the use of the newly appointed Superintendent of the Church.
“Despite being a Muslim, the Governor is a friend of the Church. He will continue to provide a conducive environment for all faiths to worship freely,” Fanwo said on behalf of the Governor.
He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to religious harmony and freedom across the state.
Responding, the Vice Chairman of the LAWMNA Territory, Pastor A.B. Geoffrey, who represented the Chairman, thanked Governor Ododo for his generosity and for identifying with the Church.
He assured the Governor of the Church’s continued prayers and support for his administration and for the development of Kogi State.
Investigator news reports that the Church leaders commended the Governor for his inclusive leadership and consistent support for faith-based organizations.
Also present at the event were the Secretary to the Kogi State Government, Pastor Mrs. Folashade Ayoade, Auditor-General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege,Hon. Femi Obanewo, and Hon. Dele Nihi, among other top government officials.
