Rotary Club Of Okota Donates Computers To Four Schools To Boost CBT, E-Learning.

Rotary Club of Okota on Tuesday 14, April 2026,donated sets of computer to four schools as part of efforts to promote computer literacy, support e-learning, and prepare students for Computer-Based Testing (CBT) examinations.

The beneficiary schools include Asaraudeen Comprehensive High School, Ijeshatado Junior High School, Okota Junior High School, and Power and Glory School.

The presentation was carried out by the President of the Rotary Club of Okota, Rotarian Kingsley Chijioke alongside other Rotarians of the club including Past Presidents.

Speaking during the presentation, Rotarian Chijioke said the donation was aimed at equipping students with essential digital skills and preparing them for CBT examinations such as JAMB, WAEC, NECO, and other external assessments.

“We are here to fulfill one of the rotary international area of focus and today this project falls under one of the area of focus which is basic and education literacy ”

“As at last year September we were here to give out 250 branded exercise books and 250 water bottles and we crowned it with a seminar on the topic “Cybercrime and Online Safety” and today we are here to present sets of computers to Asaraudeen Comprehensive High School, Okota Junior High School, Ijeshatado comprehensive school and Power and Glory school in support of computer literacy education to support what government is doing in the area of education.Rotary International has yearly plans and focus and education is one of them.”he said

He noted that computer literacy has become a critical component of modern education, adding that students must be exposed to technology early to compete effectively in today’s digital world.

“This initiative is part of Rotary’s commitment to supporting education and empowering young people through access to technology. We believe these computer sets will help students improve their ICT knowledge and enhance their learning experience,” the United President stated.

Rotarian Chijioke went further to explain that the club remains committed to educational development and will continue to implement projects that positively impact students and communities, while appealing to the children to make good use of the computer so that it will help in improving their knowledge technology.

Lending her voice Past President Titilope Okubadejo-Oladipo opined that this initiative forms part of Rotary Club of Okota’s ongoing community service efforts aimed at strengthening education, promoting innovation, and supporting youth development within their reach and Lagos State in general.

Yeye Titilope went further to appeal to the children to make good use of the computer system within their school, while calling on the school principals to ensure it is properly utilize to enhance teaching, learning and digital literacy among the students.

“We want to specifically appeal to all the principals to ensure that this item is used for the benefits of the students,it is not for any individual consumption but for the benefits of the children”she submitted.

Authorities of the beneficiary schools expressed appreciation to the Rotary Club of Okota for the gesture, describing the donation as timely and beneficial. They assured the Rotarians that the computers would be properly utilized to enhance teaching, learning, and digital literacy among students.

Students who attended the presentation also commended the Rotary Club for supporting education and helping bridge the digital gap in their various schools

Speaking with newsmen,Interactor Menesi Kristen,a student with Power and Glory school, Ejigbo thanked Rotary Club of Okota for the donation.

“We thank Rotary Club of Okota for giving us this computer system,this will go a long way in our E learning teaching and I want to assure Rotary Club of Okota,on behalf of my teachers and students that we would put the computers to very good use,” she said.

Another student with Ijeshatado comprehensive school, Master Onu Joseph also thanked Rotary Club of Okota for the donation and support, while praying that God bless and reward all of the members.
