Delivering the keynote lecture, Professor Olatunji Olateju emphasized Chief Jafojo’s unwavering loyalty to Governor Lateef Jakande during the era of the Unity Party of Nigeria, describing him as “loyalty personified” and a model of party discipline.

Senator Olajumoke highlighted Jafojo’s humility and ability to foster unity, noting that his simplicity transcended religious and political divides.

Adewale Jafojo, son of the late statesman, read excerpts from his father’s biography, recounting his journey from Ebute Meta to England for studies in building technology, and his eventual rise to become Lagos State’s first democratically elected Deputy Governor in 1979.

Chief Rafiu Adeyefa Jafojo was remembered as a man of integrity, humility, and rare ability to unite people across divides. His life of service to Lagos State and Nigeria continues to inspire leaders and citizens alike.
