The Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Hon. Prince Lanre Sanusi (PLS), has led the management team of the council on a courtesy visit to the palace of the newly installed Kuje of Amuwo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Yusuf Adegboyega Olatunji Akiolu.
The visit was an opportunity for the council leadership to formally congratulate the monarch on his installation and reaffirm its commitment to fostering a strong relationship with the traditional institution for the peace, progress and development of Amuwo Odofin.
Delivering the council’s congratulatory message, the Council Manager, Mr. Olusegun Akinyemi, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, management team, supervisors, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale, Chief of Staff, Mr. Francis Aloye, NULGE Chairman, Mr. Thompson, and the entire staff of the Local Government, congratulated Oba Akiolu and his wife on the monarch’s ascension to the throne.
Akinyemi wished the royal household a peaceful and successful reign, while expressing confidence that the new traditional leadership would contribute significantly to the unity and advancement of the community.
Speaking during the visit, PLS congratulated Oba Akiolu on his installation and expressed optimism that his emergence would usher in a new era of peace, unity and development in Kuje Amuwo.
The Chairman prayed for long life, sound health, divine wisdom and a prosperous reign for the monarch, while wishing him the grace to build on the legacy of his forefathers.
Sanusi also assured the monarch of his administration’s readiness to work closely with the palace in advancing the interests of residents and promoting sustainable development across Amuwo Odofin.
He noted that the growth and development of the community remained a collective responsibility, stressing the importance of cooperation between the Local Government, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents.
Responding on behalf of the Kuje Amuwo and Festac Town community, the Apase and General Secretary, Mr. Shefiu Ariyo, appreciated PLS, the council management and members of staff for the honour of the visit.
The Ombashu of Kuje Amuwo and Festac Town, Chief Abu Bakare, also offered prayers for the Executive Chairman, the management team and other members of the delegation.
As a gesture of appreciation, His Royal Majesty presented gifts to the Chairman and other members of the delegation.
In his response, Oba Yusuf Adegboyega Olatunji Akiolu expressed gratitude to PLS and the entire council delegation for the visit and thoughtful gifts.
The monarch prayed for the continued success of the Sanusi-led administration and pledged to maintain a cordial relationship with the Local Government.
Oba Akiolu further expressed his commitment to supporting initiatives that would promote peace, unity, growth and sustainable development in Kuje Amuwo, Amuwo Odofin and neighbouring communities.
Investigator news reports that the visit ended with both the Local Government and the traditional institution reaffirming their commitment to partnership and collective efforts towards building a more peaceful, united and prosperous Amuwo community.
