The Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Prince Lanre Sanusi, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to investing in the education and wellbeing of children, declaring that “investing in our children is investing in the future.”

Sanusi made the remark during the flag-off of the PBAT Feeds – “Adopt-A-School: Snacks for Thought” Initiative, a programme designed to provide nutritious snacks and beverages to pupils in public primary schools across the local government.

The initiative, implemented in collaboration with the Lagos State Government, Conference 57, and other partners, is part of the Renewed Hope National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme.

It is aimed at improving pupils’ nutrition, enhancing concentration in the classroom, increasing school attendance, and creating a better learning environment.

The three-day programme is taking place at 2nd Avenue Nursery and Primary School, 24 Road, Festac Town, where about 500 pupils are expected to benefit from the feeding intervention.

Speaking at the event, Prince Sanusi reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise programmes that directly improve the lives of children and strengthen the education sector.

He noted that ensuring pupils have access to nutritious meals is critical to their academic performance, healthy growth, and overall development.

The Council Chairman also expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government, Conference 57, and other partners for their support in making the initiative a reality, describing collaboration as essential to achieving sustainable development in the education sector.
