The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security and promoting community development through strategic partnerships with federal security agencies.
This commitment was reiterated on Tuesday when he hosted a delegation from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Lagos State Command, led by the Lagos State Controller of Immigration, CIS C.O. Onajirin, alongside senior officers of the Command, at the council secretariat.
The high-level engagement focused on enhancing inter-agency collaboration, intelligence gathering, migration management, border security awareness, and grassroots strategies aimed at safeguarding lives and property within Ejigbo LCDA and its environs.
Speaking during the visit, CIS Onajirin commended the proactive leadership of Aare Taiwo and the council’s unwavering support for security institutions. He noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has continued to transform the Nigerian Immigration Service through far-reaching reforms that have improved operational efficiency, personnel welfare, technological advancement, and service delivery.
According to him, the ongoing reforms have strengthened the agency’s capacity to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities while fostering greater collaboration with local governments and community stakeholders.
Responding, Aare Taiwo lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to institutional reforms, describing the achievements recorded in the Immigration Service and other security agencies as clear indicators of purposeful leadership.
“The security of our people remains a top priority for this administration. We recognize that sustainable development can only thrive in a peaceful and secure environment. This is why we will continue to support all security agencies through meaningful collaboration and community engagement,” he stated.
The council boss further emphasized that local governments play a critical role in grassroots intelligence gathering and community mobilization, adding that stronger partnerships between security agencies and local authorities are essential to addressing emerging security challenges.
He also reiterated his administration’s resolve to sustain initiatives that promote peace, law and order, youth engagement, and public awareness as part of efforts to build a safer and more prosperous Ejigbo.
Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in intelligence sharing, community sensitization programmes, capacity-building initiatives, and operational support to enhance security architecture across the council area.
