The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Dr. Seyi Jakande, has warned that drug abuse, cultism, and sexual violence are destructive vices that erode values, ruin aspirations, and undermine the future of young people.
Jakande gave the warning on Friday, July 17, while delivering a keynote address at the *Pastor Abraham Olaluwoye Foundation’s (PAO Foundation)* campaign against drug abuse, cultism, and sexual violence in Lagos.
Speaking to students of Ilupeju Grammar School, Estate Senior Grammar School, and other participating secondary schools, the Chairman stressed that these social ills have far-reaching consequences on the moral, psychological, physical, and spiritual development of youths.
He urged the students to resist negative peer pressure, choose good friends, and remain focused on their education and aspirations.
“Smokers are liable to die young,” he reminded them, warning that bad company often leads to destructive behaviour.
Jakande further encouraged the students to value and protect their bodies, speak up against sexual abuse, and report inappropriate advances to trusted adults and relevant authorities.
Commending the PAO Foundation for its commitment to youth enlightenment, Jakande said collective efforts are needed to build a generation that is responsible, disciplined, and committed to positive values.
