The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Thursday successfully supervised and coordinated the gubernatorial primary election and affirmation exercise of Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat (KOH) in Anifowoshe Ward, as part of the statewide All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary exercise held across Lagos State.
The exercise, which took place simultaneously across the 377 wards in the state, witnessed massive turnout of party faithful, stakeholders, women groups, youths, and supporters who gathered peacefully to reaffirm their loyalty and unwavering support for KOH as the APC consensus gubernatorial candidate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Speaking after the exercise, Chairman AKOD commended the leadership of the APC for ensuring a peaceful, transparent, credible, and well-organized primary process throughout the state. He described the emergence of KOH as a clear reflection of the confidence and trust party leaders and members have in his competence, leadership experience, administrative capacity, and commitment to sustaining the developmental strides and progressive legacy of Lagos State.
AKOD further praised party members in Ikeja for their unity, discipline, loyalty, and impressive participation during the exercise, noting that the successful conduct of the primary once again demonstrated the strength, structure, and cohesion of the APC across Lagos State.
He stressed that the peaceful atmosphere and overwhelming support recorded during the exercise further confirmed the readiness of party members to work collectively towards ensuring another resounding victory for the APC in future elections.
The Council Chairman also reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the ideals, vision, and collective aspirations of the progressive family, assuring that the APC structure in Ikeja remains united, energized, and fully mobilized to deliver greater victories for the party in the forthcoming general elections.
The successful affirmation process in Anifowoshe Ward further highlighted the strong grassroots acceptance and growing political momentum behind KOH’s gubernatorial ambition as support continues to grow across the state.
