The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Friday joined the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadiri Obafemi Hamzat, at the Ikeja Central Mosque for the weekly Juma’at prayers.
This special prayer session also served to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the passing of the late Alhaji Rafiu Bakare Jafojo, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
During the prayers, religious leaders offered heartfelt supplications for the repose of Jafojo’s soul. They reflected on his legacy of humility, integrity, and exceptional service to the people, underscoring the lasting impact he made in the governance of Lagos State.
AKOD took the opportunity to honor Jafojo’s immense contributions to the state’s political landscape, praising him as a pillar of progressive politics. He urged current leaders to emulate his virtues of selfless leadership and unwavering commitment to public service.
The Chairman went further to emphasized that such spiritual observances help strengthen unity and reinforce shared values among both leaders and citizens.
He reaffirmed Ikeja Local Government’s alignment with the broader vision of the Lagos State Government, which seeks to foster peace, development, and prosperity for all.
