Ejigbo, Lagos–Determined to sustain peace and strengthen security across Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), the Executive Chairman, Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), on Monday 8,May 2026,convened a high-level Peace and Security Stakeholders’ Meeting, bringing together traditional rulers, community leaders, market representatives, religious institutions, and security agencies under the theme, “See Something, Say Something.”
The meeting, held at the Council Secretariat, served as a strategic platform for reviewing the security situation within the council area and charting a united course towards crime prevention, community vigilance, and public safety.

Speaking at the gathering, Aare TAT stressed that the responsibility of securing lives and property should not be left solely to law enforcement agencies.
He urged residents to embrace a culture of vigilance and timely information sharing, noting that effective security begins with an alert and responsible community.
According to the Chairman, criminal elements thrive when communities remain silent, but their activities can be curtailed when citizens promptly report suspicious movements and unusual activities to the relevant authorities.
He described security as the foundation upon which development, economic growth, and social stability are built, adding that no community can truly prosper in an atmosphere of fear and insecurity.
Investigator news reports that the event attracted prominent stakeholders, including His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr. Maroof Adisa Adekunle Ojoola, JP, the Oojon of Ejigbo and Ijan Land; Hon. Yemisi Otuyemi, Secretary to the Local Government; community development leaders, market executives, and respected religious figures.
Representatives of key security agencies were also in attendance, including officers of the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the National Orientation Agency (NOA), and other relevant institutions committed to maintaining peace and order within the community.

Aare TAT emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between residents and security operatives, noting that intelligence gathered from community members often serves as the first line of defence against criminal activities.
He further reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting security agencies and implementing people-oriented initiatives aimed at safeguarding residents and preserving the peaceful character for which Ejigbo is known.
Stakeholders at the meeting praised the council chairman for his proactive leadership and consistent efforts to foster a safe environment for residents and businesses.
They pledged their continued support towards strengthening community policing and promoting peaceful coexistence throughout the LCDA.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment from all participants to deepen cooperation, improve intelligence gathering, and encourage residents to play active roles in protecting their neighbourhoods,and more resilient against all forms of criminal activity.
