The fight for the senate seat in Anambra senatorial district will be a battle of the ladies, with incumbent senator Stella Oduah and former Anambra First Lady Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano winning the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Grand Alliance senatorial tickets for Anambra North, respectively (APGA). respectively
At the APGA primary held at the Ikpeazu Sports Stadium in Onitsha on Sunday, Mrs Obiano defeated her husband’s former Chief of Staff, Chief Primus Odili, by 152 votes to 120.

Senator Oduah, a former Aviation Minister, will have to fight former First Lady Michelle Obama for her Senate seat for the third time.
Another governorship aspirant, Maxwell Okoye, was elected for the Awka North and South Federal ticket, while Hon Okwudili Nwankwo, the incumbent lawmaker for Orumba North and South, was re-elected for the APC ticket.
