The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State has unveiled its Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo appointed as Chairman.
The council brings together some of the most prominent political figures in the state, cutting across generations and party blocs, to drive the party’s presidential campaign and mobilization strategy.
Former Governor Yahaya Bello, former Governor Capt. Idris Wada (Rtd), former Deputy Governors Yomi Awoniyi and Chief Edward Onoja were named as Patrons of the council.
Former Kogi West Senator, Senator Smart Adeyemi, has been appointed as the Director-General of the campaign council, while the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, will serve as Coordinating Director, Strategic Communication.
Investigator news reports that Ali Bello was appointed as State Coordinator of the Presidential Campaign Council, with Hilary Ojomah Egwudah as Deputy Coordinator.
According to the list released by the party, Senator Sunday Karimi will serve as Director-General, Parliamentarian Mobilisation, while Comrade Majeed Dahiru will serve as Spokesman of the council.
Ismail Isah was named Deputy Coordinating Director, Media and Strategic Communication, while Rtd Commander Jerry Omodara will head the Security and Intelligence Directorate.
Other key appointments include Abdulaziz Idris King as DG, Election Planning; Suberu Adagu as DG, Administration; Rt. Hon. Aliyu Umar Yusuf as Director, Stakeholder Mobilisation; Yakubu Yusuf Okala as Director, Logistics and Operations; and Asiwaju Asiru Idris as Director of Finance and Treasurer.
Princess Atika Ajanah will head the Fundraising Directorate, Barr. James Fabola will lead the Legal Directorate, while former Minister Hajiya Ramatu Tijani Aliyu will oversee Policy and Manifesto Development.
The directorates also include Barr. Momodu Ozigi Deedat as Director of Works; Oladele Nihi as Director of Youth and Students Mobilisation; Hajiya Rabi Haruna Hassan as Director of Women Mobilisation; Adoga Ibrahim as Director of Diaspora Mobilisation; Ibrahim Abdulsalam Ahovi as Director of Support Group Coordination; Alfred Bello as Director of Faith Group Coordination; Hon. Duro Meseko as Director of Protocol;
Others are Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma as Director of Party Mobilisation; Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi as Director of Sports Sector Mobilisation; Onuh Edoka as Director of Labour Unions; Dr. Abdulaziz Adams Adeiza as Director of Medical Services; and Haddy Ametuo as Director of Special Duties.
The council also has two Vice Chairmen â Deputy Governor Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu and Engr. Aliyu Ezzu Momoh, while Ambassador Abubakar Sanusi Gamji, Senator Attai Aidoko and Rt. Hon. Alfa Imam will serve as Vice Chairmen for Kogi Central, East and West respectively.
Rt. Hon. Momohjimoh Lawal, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu and Rt. Hon. Leke Joseph Abejide were appointed Deputy Directors-General for Kogi Central, East and West Senatorial Districts respectively.
Hon. A.K. Salihu was named Director-General, Mobilisation, with Prof. Usman Salisu Ogbo and Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole as deputies.
The APC said the broad-based composition reflects its resolve to build a robust, inclusive and effective campaign structure that will deliver Kogi State for the party in the 2027 presidential election.
