The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Branch, Engr. Adigun Olalekan Ibrahim, has congratulated the immediate past Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala (HRA), on his appointment as Deputy Director-General of the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council for the 2027 general elections.
Ajala’s appointment was announced by the leadership of the party in Wednesday’s edition of The Nation newspaper, alongside other party leaders, with former Minister and Senator, Musiliu Obanikoro, named as Director-General of the Council.
In a congratulatory statement, Adigun described Ajala’s emergence as well-deserved and a recognition of his political experience, leadership capacity and contributions to the development of Lagos State.
According to him, Ajala’s years of public service and deep grassroots engagement have equipped him with the experience needed for the crucial assignment.
“I warmly congratulate my political mentor, Hon. Rasaq Olusola Ajala on this well-deserved appointment. His emergence is a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership experience, commitment and understanding of grassroots politics,” Adigun said.
He expressed confidence that the former Chairman, who also served as Secretary of Conference 57 Chairmen in Lagos, would bring his wealth of experience to bear in strengthening community engagement and stakeholder mobilization ahead of the polls.
“Leadership positions come with responsibilities. I am confident that HRA will bring his experience and understanding of the people to bear as he takes on this new assignment. I wish him every success in the discharge of his responsibilities,” he added.
Adigun further reiterated the need for meaningful youth engagement in the political process, stressing that young people should be given greater opportunities to participate constructively in democratic activities.
He wished Ajala success in his new role and expressed conviction that he would remain committed to inclusive leadership, youth engagement and community development.
