………Three-Day Media Blitz Tackles Economy, Tinubu’s Reforms, Misinformation and 2027 Elections

Ibadan,Oyo State — The Renewed Hope message received a major boost in Oyo State as Olalekan Oni (Mr. Oni), Renewed Hope Crusader, embarked on a three-day intensive media engagement across Ibadan, taking the policies, programmes and achievements of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directly to the people.

The media crusade, held from Thursday, 3rd to Saturday, 5th September 2026, featured appearances on five leading radio platforms—Honor 103.1FM, Omoluabi 87.7FM, YES 101.7FM, JDN Radio 101.5FM and Crest 91.1FM—with discussions centred on the state of the nation, the Nigerian economy, the reforms of the Tinubu administration, government programmes and interventions, ongoing political developments and preparations for the 2027 General Elections.

Speaking across the different platforms, Oni provided an extensive analysis of the Nigerian economy, acknowledging the economic pains being experienced by citizens while also highlighting what he described as the significant gains emerging from the reforms of the Renewed Hope Administration.

He backed his arguments with statistics, beneficiary figures and examples of government programmes and initiatives, explaining not only what the Tinubu administration has done, but also why some of the difficult decisions were taken and how Nigerians are benefiting from them.

COUNTERING MISINFORMATION WITH FACTS

A major feature of the three-day media engagement was the robust confrontation of what Oni described as misinformation, half-truths and misleading narratives being propagated by opposition parties and political actors.

Rather than allowing political narratives to go unchallenged, Oni used the platforms to put records straight, provide context to government policies and draw attention to programmes and interventions which, according to him, have not received adequate public awareness.

The interactive nature of the programmes also provided members of the public with an opportunity to question, challenge and scrutinise the issues being discussed.

The feedback was mixed and reflected the realities of the Nigerian political environment. While some callers expressed dissatisfaction with the economic hardship and the pains associated with the reforms, others commended President Tinubu for taking what they described as difficult but necessary decisions.

One caller on YES FM made a particularly significant intervention, declaring his intention to support President Tinubu for a second term, citing the administration’s settlement of outstanding pension obligations as one of the reasons for his position.

The public interaction also produced personal testimonies about government programmes. Two Facebook participants who joined the live broadcast testified that they were beneficiaries of the Federal Government’s TVET initiative, offering first-hand perspectives on the impact of the programme.

OVER 120,000 REACHED ACROSS MULTIPLE PLATFORMS

The three-day media crusade generated significant audience engagement, with over 120,000 people estimated to have listened to or watched the five broadcasts.

The reach extended beyond Ibadan and Oyo State, with participation and listenership cutting across parts of Lagos and Osun States, while the Facebook Live broadcasts further expanded the potential audience beyond geographical boundaries.

The engagement demonstrated the continuing power of radio as a political communication platform, particularly when combined with interactive phone-ins and social-media broadcasting.

For many participants, the programmes became an opportunity to learn about government policies, programmes and interventions they were previously unaware of, while also providing a forum for citizens to express their frustrations and demand explanations.

TINUBU 2027: “THE PROSPECTS REMAIN VERY STRONG”

The 2027 presidential election also featured prominently during the media engagements.

Oni argued that the prospects of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term remain strong, pointing to what he described as the administration’s policy direction, reforms and emerging results as factors that will shape the political conversation ahead of the 2027 elections.

He maintained that the coming campaign season would require more than rallies and political gatherings, stressing the need for sustained engagement with Nigerians through radio, television, community outreach, social media and grassroots mobilisation.

According to him, the people must be given the opportunity to hear, question and understand the policies and programmes of government before making their electoral choices.

“THE CONVERSATION CONTINUES”

Oni expressed appreciation to the management and presenters of Honor 103.1FM, Omoluabi 87.7FM, YES 101.7FM, JDN Radio 101.5FM and Crest 91.1FM for providing their platforms for the engagements.

He also reserved special appreciation for his boss and leader, Alhaji Tunde Oyetola, for his “massive support and encouragement” throughout the three-day media crusade.

The Renewed Hope Crusader described the Ibadan engagement as part of a broader communication effort that will continue across Nigeria as the country moves deeper into the 2027 political season.

«“The conversation continues across the nation as we move properly into the campaign season. The Renewed Hope message must continue to reach the people, and Nigerians must be given the opportunity to hear the facts, ask questions and make informed choices.”»

Oni concluded with the Yoruba expression, “Ajọṣe wa kọnibaje,” reaffirming his commitment to collective political engagement and mobilisation.

God Bless Nigeria.
