The Executive Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, has intensified efforts to improve the quality of basic education with the continued rollout of the PBAT FEEDS initiative, extending educational materials, classroom furniture and welfare support to pupils of L.A. Nursery & Primary School 2, Ilogbo Elegba.
The intervention, which entered its third day, reflects the Chairman’s commitment to ensuring that pupils in public primary schools not only have access to nutritious meals but also learn in a conducive environment equipped with the essential tools for academic success.
As part of the distribution, the school received textbooks, school bags, food flasks, water bottles, plates, aprons, plastic chairs and tables.
The items complement the ongoing PBAT FEEDS school feeding programme, which is providing daily nutritious meals to pupils across Oto-Awori LCDA.
Speaking on the importance of the initiative, Hon.Kareem Abiodun reiterated that education remains one of the cornerstones of his administration’s development agenda.
According to him, investing in children today is an investment in the future of the community, stressing that no child should be denied the opportunity to learn because of inadequate learning materials or poor classroom facilities.
The Chairman noted that the PBAT FEEDS initiative goes beyond providing meals, as it is designed to encourage school enrolment, improve attendance, boost concentration in the classroom and create an atmosphere where pupils can thrive academically.
Investigator news reports that the gesture was warmly received by pupils, teachers and the school management, who described the intervention as timely and impactful.
They commended the Chairman for prioritising the welfare of schoolchildren and for demonstrating a genuine commitment to strengthening public primary education through practical and people-centred programmes.
