Dr. Seyi Jakande, Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), on Tuesday, June 16, embarked on an extensive inspection tour of seven Primary Health Centres across the council area as part of efforts to improve healthcare services and enhance the wellbeing of residents.
The facilities visited included Ayantuga, Kajola, Kayode, Anikulapo, Ajisegiri, Awolowo, and Coker Primary Health Centres. The inspection underscored the administration’s commitment to delivering quality, accessible, and efficient healthcare at the grassroots level.
At Coker Primary Health Centre, Dr. Jakande met with healthcare personnel to review consultation procedures and discuss operational challenges affecting service delivery.
At Ajisegiri, he examined staff records and engaged patients to gain firsthand insight into their experiences and the quality of care being provided.
The Chairman also assessed the newly completed Kayode Primary Health Centre, which is awaiting commissioning, to evaluate its readiness for operation and the expected impact on healthcare access within the community.
At Kajola Primary Health Centre, attention was focused on service efficiency and patient satisfaction, while inspections at Anikulapo and Awolowo centres centered on staff attendance, facility conditions, and compliance with operational standards.
The tour also took Dr. Jakande to the Ayantuga Primary Health Centre, a 24-hour facility, where he reviewed staffing levels and operational effectiveness to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for residents.
Speaking during the exercise, Dr. Jakande reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to strengthening healthcare delivery across the LCDA.
“Our people deserve healthcare services that are accessible, reliable, and efficient. These inspections provide an opportunity to identify areas of strength, address existing gaps, and ensure that our health facilities continue to serve residents effectively,” he said.
The inspection team included the Council Manager, Miss Ogabi; the Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Abímbólá Folami; the Supervisor for Health, Hon. Falade Otolori; and other senior council officials.
The exercise further demonstrated the administration’s commitment to its HEWA Agenda—Service to the People, Prosperity for All—while reinforcing efforts to ensure that all health facilities within the LCDA operate at optimal capacity for the benefit of the people.
