Ejigbo, Lagos–In a significant boost to grassroots healthcare delivery, the Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), has approved the relocation of primary healthcare services from the temporary facility at Otasunmi Street to the newly rehabilitated and upgraded Primary Health Centre (PHC) at Iyana Ejigbo.
The relocation follows the successful completion of extensive renovation and modernization works at the health centre, reaffirming the Chairman’s commitment to providing residents with access to quality and affordable healthcare services.
The rehabilitation project featured comprehensive structural improvements, upgraded plumbing and electrical installations, carpentry works, enhanced waiting and consultation areas, and a more conducive environment for both healthcare workers and patients.
The transformed facility is designed to improve service efficiency, patient comfort, and overall healthcare outcomes.
Speaking on the development, TAT noted that the Otasunmi facility was established as a temporary operational base to ensure uninterrupted healthcare services during the renovation period.
He emphasized that the return to the Iyana Ejigbo PHC fulfills a promise made to residents and demonstrates his administration’s dedication to delivering people-oriented projects.
According to the Chairman, the upgraded health centre is now better positioned to provide critical healthcare services, including maternal and child healthcare, antenatal and postnatal care, immunization programmes, medical consultations, treatment of common ailments, family planning services, health education, and effective medical records management.
Aare TAT stated that access to quality primary healthcare remains a cornerstone of his administration’s development agenda, stressing that a healthy population is essential for sustainable community growth and economic productivity.
He further disclosed that the council will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders and government agencies to strengthen healthcare infrastructure, improve service delivery, and ensure that residents receive prompt and professional medical attention within their communities.
