Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has called for stronger collaboration between the Federal Government, security agencies, and local stakeholders as part of efforts to effectively tackle insecurity in the state.
He made this known on Wednesday while speaking at the Kogi State Security Summit, where he reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and property, describing security as a critical foundation for sustainable development.
The governor acknowledged the Federal Government’s continued support in addressing security challenges but emphasized the need for deeper synergy among all actors to confront emerging threats more effectively.
Ododo stressed that his administration will not tolerate criminal activities in any form, assuring residents that tougher and more decisive actions will be taken against individuals or groups threatening the peace of the state.
He also highlighted ongoing efforts by his government to strengthen community-based security frameworks, enhance intelligence gathering, and improve logistical support for security agencies operating across Kogi State.
The governor called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and residents to actively support security efforts by providing timely and credible information, noting that maintaining security is a shared responsibility.
According to him, the summit offers a vital platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas, align strategies, and build a united front against criminal elements.
Ododo expressed confidence that sustained collaboration and collective commitment would lead to greater progress in ensuring safety and stability across the state.
