Residents of Post Service Housing Estate in Ojo, Lagos, are up in arms over the Estate’s Executive Committee’s as the Managing Director of Post Service Housing Estate has been accused of siding with the Estate’s Executive Committee, which has been criticized for its high-handedness and refusal to account for its stewardship to residents.
Post Service Housing Estate Limited was created as a housing Unit that will enable the Military Officers to co- habit with the Civilians, so that it will be easy for them to live peacefully in the civil environment, devoid of Military mentalities.
Investigator news reports that the Exco has refused to render accounts to residents despite collecting utility bills for three years as Major General A I Allison has ordered the residents of Post Service Housing Estate,Ojo to obey the current Executive Committee led by Colonel Tokunbo Adelanwa without questioning, “stop behaving like Goat, follow like a Sheep, stop questioning the EXCO”,he said

Reports also has it that the MD was invited to the Estate owing to squabbles that arose over the high handedness of the Executive Committee who refused to give account of it’s stewardship to over one thousand residents who pay N4000 Utility bills every month in the past three years.
The collection is meant for refuse, security and development of the Estate .The Committee was elected to spend two years and after two years, through the instrumentalities of the Officer’s Forum, the executive Committee was returned unopposed with the belief that they would turn a new leave.
Speaking to investigator news,a concerned residents who decided to remain anonymous stated that one year three months into the second tenure, no single meeting was called to render account or discuss issues bothering the Estate, instead the Executive Committee were displaying pictures of the condition of how the roads, gates, transformers were before they took over Power rather than rendering the account.
He went further to state that the WhatsApp Platform that was created by PHDL’s representative in the Estate has been highjacked by the Executive Committee due to wicked collaboration between the EXCO and the SMO, because every SMO wants to build a house within a year of his posting to Ojo.
“The residents were anxious to receive the MD but were utterly disappointed when he said the Estate belong to the Officers who were once his boss in the army hence the civilians should subjugate themselves to the officers, this is against the Laws that established the PHDL.”
“Residents who question the EXCO’s actions are being removed from the WhatsApp platform and intimidated and instead of the MD to sanitize the WhatsApp Platform by calling for the inclusion of those removed, take over the Platform through the SMO, he said only the Land owners or Landlords should be added to the Platform and any other WhatsApp platform in the name of PHDL be deleted.”he said
Investigator news gathered that the former executive chairman of the Estate Col. Okereke pleaded with the current Executive Committee to call a meeting and render account to the residents, he was removed from the platform and residents who expressed shock at his removal were equally removed from the Platform.
“If you ever ask questions bothering you on the platform the executive committee will look for an excuse to remove your light, dehumanise you and embarrass you thoroughly.”
“Since the current Executive Committee took over the leadership of the Estate, the residents have cooperated fully until they refused to take simple advice to call a meeting.Whoever supported a call for a meeting is inciting unrest in the Estate”
“The residents were happy when Board of Trustee was inaugurated last year but the Chairman of the BOT for reasons best known to him instructed the members to allow the EXCO to operate freely without any interference.”
“Unfortunately, one of the BOT member Gen. Abdulraheem was the Signatory to the project account of the EXCO, apparently he was leaking the secret of the BOT to the EXCO because he was indirectly an EXCO member and a BOT member.”
“The only instruction that ever came out from the BOT, was around January, when the EXCO was directed to call for a general meeting, which they failed to call until March and the March meeting was equally aborted.
“The BOT that was the hope of the oppressed residents was proscribed by the MD, who acted as if Nigeria was under Military dictatorship rather than a democratic government.”
“Any call for accountabilty was considered an incitement.”the concerned residents submitted.
Investigator news also gathered that the residents are demanding accountability and transparency from the EXCO, while crying out for fairness and justice, citing the MD’s bias towards the EXCO as they all wants a leader who will cooperate with the PHDL to fast-track infrastructural development.
They opined that the Estate’s infrastructure has decayed, with residents paying utility bills without seeing corresponding improvements noting that the earnings from collections can only do repairs, little purchases because the PHDL included Infrastructural levies on the land they sold as there ought to be roads, transformers, poles readily made available by the PHDL.Those living in A Wing of the Estate cannot access their homes during rainy season.
“If the Chief of Army Staff could give account of its stewardship to Nigerians, why should the MD stand behind those who refused to give account for three years.”
“The MD aligned with the Bully ,dashed the hopes of the residents because he refused to be fair and just. There are Post Service Housing Estates in Ojo, Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Kano so ours cannot be different ” they concluded.
