Unknown gunmen invaded a celestial church in Wasimi, Ogun State, on Tuesday and kidnapped two worshippers.
The gun-wielding men reportedly approached Celestial Church of Christ, Oshofa Parish, in the Ewekoro local government area, a few minutes after midnight, according to reports.
Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo, the church’s Shepherd, confirmed the unfortunate incident, saying that two worshippers, Oluwaseun Ajose and Dagunro Ayobami, were dragged away from the church.
He went on to say that he was later contacted and that a ransom of N50 million was demanded.
“The kidnappers refused to speak with me twice when my Assistant Shepherd called almost two hours after they left.” However, on his third attempt, they approached me and demanded a ransom of N50 million.
“I told them I am a servant of God, and no one pays me a salary,” she said. I spoke with the Commissioner of Police of Ogun State. “The command is looking into it.”

PPRO Abimbola Oyeyemi of Ogun said he had not yet been briefed on the incident when contacted.
