Chief Emmanuel Ubah popularly known as Otunba Ojoto has withdrawn his earlier comments contained in a viral voice note directed at former Ohanaeze Ndigbo President, Chief Solomon Aguene, while also denying claims that he threatened to take the matter to a shrine in Anambra State.
Ubah, popularly known as Otunba Ojoto, made the clarification during a media chat following the circulation of the audio recording on social media, which sparked controversy and mixed reactions within the public space.
He explained that the voice notes were part of a private discussion and were never intended for public consumption, expressing regret over how the content found its way into the media.
âI donât know how the voice notes leaked to the press because I only confided in just a few of my brothers,â he said.
The elder statesman also dismissed allegations that he orchestrated or sponsored the spread of the audio across online platforms, insisting he had no involvement in its wider circulation.
Reacting to reports that he threatened to take Chief Aguene to a dreaded shrine in Anambra State, Ubah clarified that his statement was figurative and not meant literally.
âI didnât report Aguene to any shrine and I have never visited any native doctor or shrine in my life. I only said that because people fear shrine more than God,â he explained.
Ubah further stated that he has moved on from the matter, stressing that his focus is now on peace, reconciliation, and unity among Ndigbo in Lagos.
He therefore called on Igbo stakeholders, including both his supporters and those who opposed him during the election, to support efforts aimed at strengthening unity in the community.
According to him, his involvement in the Igbo race was driven by the desire to promote peace and bring all Igbos in Lagos under one umbrella.
Ubah went further to urge the newly elected President General Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State, Chief Leonard Okafor (Oba Ojoto)to work towards the full unification of Ndigbo and the restoration of their collective integrity, while appealing for maximum support from the community to ensure his success.
