Tragedy struck on Saturday along the Adekunle corridor, inward Iyana Oworo in Lagos, where a fatal road crash claimed two lives and left two other persons in critical condition.
The accident involved a Suzuki commercial bus with registration number KTU 333 YF and a Pickup Van. 
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) said two occupants died on the spot, while two others – a male and a female – sustained serious injuries.
According to the agency’s Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA operatives responded swiftly to the distress call, mobilising to the scene to coordinate rescue operations, secure the area and evacuate the victims.
He said the remains of the two deceased were evacuated and handed over to officials of the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU), while the critically injured survivors were rushed to the General Hospital, Odan, for emergency treatment.
The accidented vehicles and the driver of the commercial bus were later handed over to security personnel from the Yaba Police Division for further investigation and to maintain order at the scene.
The General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, described the incident as deeply distressing and expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased.
Bakare-Oki wished the injured victims a speedy and full recovery, while urging all motorists to exercise heightened vigilance and strict adherence to traffic rules.
He reiterated that responsible driving, concentration and observance of speed limits remain indispensable to preventing avoidable road crashes.
LASTMA appealed to motorists to maintain safe following distances, avoid reckless manoeuvres and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy at all times.
