Sterling Bank, in collaboration with Sterling One Foundation, the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Sunbeth, community volunteers, and other partner organizations, has announced the launch of The Great Nigeria Cleanup, a nationwide environmental initiative scheduled for April 25, 2026.
The campaign, which will span all six geopolitical zones, aligns with the United Nations Decade of Action and aims to mobilize citizens across key states including Lagos, Abuja, Ogun, Osun, Cross River, Delta, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, Abia, Enugu, Imo, Sokoto, Kano, Benue, Plateau, Kogi, and Katsina.
The initiative seeks to intensify efforts to combat plastic pollution, improve waste management, and promote a culture of environmental responsibility.
Speaking on the initiative, Chief Operating Officer of Sterling Bank, Temitayo Adegoke, emphasized the importance of collective action in driving meaningful change.

Organisers are encouraging Nigerians nationwide to actively participate in the cleanup exercise, describing it as a collective responsibility toward building a cleaner and healthier environment.
