The Executive Chairman of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dr. Seyi Jakande, on Monday, April 13, convened a strategic security meeting aimed at reinforcing peace and safety across the community.
The meeting, held with members of the Council’s Peace and Security Committee, brought together top security officials and key community stakeholders to address emerging concerns and strengthen collaborative efforts.
Among those in attendance were the Area Commander, Area D; Divisional Police Officers from Mushin, Ilupeju, and the Railwayline corridor; the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS); divisional heads of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Immigration Service; as well as the Commanding Officer of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) operating within the community.
Traditional and community leaders also participated in the meeting, including the Oba of Odi-Olowo, Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC), and the Iyaoloja General of the community.
Senior council officials present included the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Council Manager, and Legal Officer.
Investigator news reports that discussions centered on the activities of individuals allegedly attempting to undermine the peaceful atmosphere within the community.
Stakeholders reviewed intelligence reports and explored coordinated strategies to prevent security breaches and maintain stability.
In his address,Dr. Jakande reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property remains a core component of his administration’s HEWA Agenda, calling on security agencies to intensify vigilance and strengthen inter-agency cooperation.
“The safety of our people is non-negotiable. We must ensure that no individual or group succeeds in scuttling the peace we have worked hard to build,” he stated.
Investigator news gathered that the meeting ended with a collective commitment to improved intelligence sharing, increased patrol operations, and deeper collaboration between security agencies and community leadership to sustain peace and order in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye.
