Sanwo Olu Engages Stakeholders,Gives Account Of Achievements.

In a significant display of transparency, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu engaged key stakeholders in a comprehensive forum on January 24, 2025.
The session, aimed at highlighting the state’s achievements and discussingy ongoing projects, was marked by open dialogue and forward-looking plans for Lagos’s future.
Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, delivered a robust address at the Alausa Stakeholder Engagement, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance. Omotoso stressed that the Sanwo-Olu government remains dedicated to strengthening communication with citizens, ensuring transparency, and maintaining public trust.
Omotoso articulated the government’s achievements, particularly in infrastructure, health, and education. Lagos has witnessed tremendous development, with the successful completion of major projects like the Red Line Rail and a series of new road projects.
The ongoing expansion of the Blue Line rail system and the development of new bus terminals also stand as monumental steps toward easing transportation challenges in the state.
The administration’s efforts extend beyond infrastructure. The government has rolled out initiatives that positively impact the socio-economic well-being of residents, including youth empowerment programs, and housing projects such as the Rising Lagos Apartments and the Egan-Igando Housing Scheme.
Omotoso outlined the administration’s focus on sustainability, noting that Lagos State remains committed to mitigating climate change through the Lagos State Climate Adaptation Resilience Plan. Initiatives such as waste-to-wealth programs and tree-planting campaigns align with the state’s vision of a greener and more resilient Lagos.
Health and education also remain top priorities. Omotoso highlighted progress in the construction of the New Massey Street Children’s Hospital, which, once completed, will become the largest pediatric facility in West Africa.
Similarly, several new schools and classroom blocks are being built to meet the needs of the state’s growing population.
As the year 2025 progresses, the government’s priorities include improving infrastructure, enhancing access to quality healthcare, and promoting economic growth through support for small businesses and the technology sector.
Omotoso emphasized that these goals will be achieved through partnerships with local and international stakeholders.
In conclusion, the stakeholder engagement was a powerful demonstration of Governor Sanwo-Olu’s administration’s commitment to governance that listens and responds to the needs of its people.
