…Tasks Wada-Led Panel To Reconcile Aggrieved Members, Strengthen Party Cohesion.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has inaugurated a 17-member APC Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee to reconcile aggrieved members and restore unity within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections. 
The committee was inaugurated on Tuesday in Lokoja and is chaired by former Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Ichala Wada.
This was disclosed in a statement on Wednesday by the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo.
Governor Ododo described the assignment as historic, stressing that the strength of APC in Kogi depends on unity and inclusiveness.
“I’m a man of peace. I’m a man of consultation and engagement. I’ve never believed in violence as a means of resolving political differences. Where there’s disagreement, there must always be room for dialogue, understanding and reconciliation,” he said.
He recalled reaching out to leaders across party, ethnic and religious lines after emerging as APC candidate in 2023, noting that the same spirit informed the setting up of the committee.
“We’re members of the same family. Whatever differences we have had must give way to the greater interest of the party and the state. The timing of this assignment is also important. We’re preparing for the 2027 elections,” the Governor added.
The Governor charged the panel to identify the causes of disputes and aggrieved members within the party,develop lasting and mutually acceptable solutions,identify inactive founding members and bring them back into the fold,produce a statewide grievance and stakeholder mapping report.
The panel is also charged to develop an APC continuous reconciliation action plan,submit a final reconciliation and political harmonisation report to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure
The committee has three weeks to complete its assignment.
Ododo also highlighted federal support to Kogi under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, citing the Kogi international airport and ajaokuta economic city as major projects.
He said economic reforms have increased resources to states and urged Kogi APC members to remain behind the President.
“We cannot afford to fail a President who has given so much attention and support to Kogi State. I believe he’s the best person to take Nigeria forward,” he declared.
Responding, Chairman Capt. Idris Wada thanked the Governor and assured the panel would “hit the ground running” to reconcile members and strengthen the party.
Second Vice Chairman and former Deputy Governor,Chief Edward Onoja,also pledged the committee’s commitment to work with all stakeholders for meaningful reconciliation.

Abubakar Sadiq Amodu, Alhaji Ado Shuaibu, Hon. Abdulkareem Salihu, Hajiya Ramatu Shehu Atta, ASP Aurelus Adejoh Yusuf and Hon. Bode Ogunmola.
With the inauguration, APC stakeholders in Kogi expressed optimism that the reconciliation drive will position the party for victory in 2027.
