The leadership of Njiko Ndi Anioma Social-Cultural Organisation has formally dissociated itself from an organisation allegedly inviting members of the Anioma Renaissance Towns Union to attend the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State General Assembly scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

In a statement issued by the organisation, its leadership said it was alerted to the invitation and considered it necessary to clarify its position to Anioma stakeholders and members of the public.

Njiko Ndi Anioma stated that it does not know, recognise or associate with the organisation behind the invitation, stressing that the group does not represent or speak on behalf of Njiko Ndi Anioma Social-Cultural Organisation.

The organisation further reaffirmed Chief Chuks Smith, popularly known as Obuzor Anioma, as the recognised Anioma leader in Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.

According to the group, the clarification became necessary to prevent confusion among Anioma people and other stakeholders who may be misled by organisations or individuals claiming to represent the Anioma community without the backing of the recognised leadership.

The leadership therefore urged members of the public to regard the statement as its formal notice of disassociation from the organisation responsible for the invitation to the August 15 meeting.

It also reiterated its commitment to promoting the unity, cultural identity and interests of Anioma people in Lagos State, while calling on stakeholders to exercise caution and seek clarification before associating with groups purporting to represent Anioma interests.

Investigator news reports that the statement was also endorsed by Chief Chuks Smith (Obuzor Anioma), President-General/BOT; Chief Mrs Joy Ashize, General Secretary/BOT Member; His Royal Dr. Vincent Iwobi, Oyendu Ndi Anioma Lagos State/BOT Member; Ogbuefi Anthony Onelum, Onoi Azaoma IIah Kingdom and Chairman, Kingmakers, Njiko Ndi Anioma Socio-Cultural Organisation/BOT Member; and High Chief Princess Rosemary Nkem Igweh, Omu Mili Anioma and Woman Leader, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State/BOT Member.

Other signatories include Chief Mrs Rosemary Ekene, Director Social; Miss Anita Ozili, Director Finance; Chief Mrs Benedicta Obi, Ordiukonamba United Kingdom; Chief Mrs Grace Nwoko, Ada Anioma United Kingdom; Chief Mrs Esther Ogom, Director Contact and Mobilisation; Chief Mrs D.
