The Lagos Grassroots Alliance (LGA) has intensified preparations for its official public unveiling with a high-level leadership meeting that attracted more than 170 executives and coordinators drawn from the 20 Local Government Areas of Lagos State.

The strategic gathering underscored the Alliance’s expanding grassroots network and renewed commitment to strengthening community participation, unity and inclusive development across the state ahead of its formal launch on Friday, July 17, 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, the Convener of the Alliance, Owolabi J. Falana, described the organisation as a people-oriented movement built on the principles of unity, inclusion and collective progress.

He assured members that the Alliance is committed not only to grassroots mobilisation but also to promoting the welfare, empowerment and overall development of its members.

Falana emphasized that every member has a valuable role to play in achieving the vision of the organisation, adding that the Alliance would continue to create opportunities that encourage active participation and community growth.

Also addressing the gathering, the Director-General of the Alliance, Agbaje Gabriel Oluwatosin, highlighted the positive impact the platform has already made in the lives of many members over the years.

He expressed confidence that the Alliance’s new phase would open even greater opportunities for members across Lagos State.

He charged all local government leaders to return to their respective communities and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the July 17 public unveiling, stressing that the success of the event depends on the commitment and active involvement of members at the grassroots.

As part of the unveiling programme, the Lagos Grassroots Alliance will host a public lecture themed “2027 Elections: Waking the Giant Votes in Lagos.”

The event is expected to bring together political stakeholders, community leaders, youth groups and other critical participants to examine the role of grassroots mobilisation, civic participation and community collaboration in strengthening democracy and sustaining Lagos State’s developmental progress.

The Alliance said the event will mark the beginning of a broader movement aimed at deepening citizens’ engagement and fostering stronger partnerships for the continued growth and development of Lagos State.
