….As Environmental Sanitation Alters Examination Schedule

The Lagos State Government has postponed the Year 2026 Placement Test from Saturday, July 25, to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, following a clash with the State’s monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise.
The announcement was made by the Lagos State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education through the Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB), which said the adjustment was necessary to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination.
Speaking on the development, the Registrar of the Lagos State Examinations Board, Mr. Adebayo Orunsolu, explained that the earlier date coincided with the monthly environmental sanitation exercise observed across Lagos State on the last Saturday of every month.
He noted that the restriction of movement during the sanitation exercise would have posed significant challenges for candidates, parents, guardians, examination officials and other stakeholders travelling to designated examination centres across the state.
According to the Registrar, the Board carefully reviewed the situation and approved Tuesday, July 28, 2026, as the new date for the Placement Test in order to guarantee a seamless and well-coordinated examination process.
Mr. Orunsolu appealed to parents, guardians, school administrators and all candidates to take note of the revised examination date and make the necessary adjustments to their schedules.
He assured stakeholders that the Board has concluded all necessary logistical and administrative arrangements to ensure that the Placement Test is conducted in a transparent, credible and hitch-free manner.
While expressing regret over any inconvenience the postponement may cause, the Registrar thanked parents, schools and the general public for their understanding, cooperation and continued support.
He reaffirmed the commitment of the Lagos State Examinations Board to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, efficiency and excellence in the conduct of public examinations, assuring residents that the Board remains focused on delivering a fair and well-organised placement exercise for all eligible candidates.
