The Kano state government has stated that the explosion in the Sabon Gari region early Tuesday morning was not in a school.
Malam Muhammad Garba, the state commissioner for information, said the incident occurred near the school on Aba Road in the Sabon Gari area of Fagge local government.
While the source of the explosion and the extent of the damage has yet to be determined, he said an investigation has begun to establish the cause, impact, and next steps.
Malam Garba urged residents of the state, particularly those who live in the area where the event occurred, to be calm as the government and appropriate agencies work to resolve the situation.
The commissioner promised that the government would keep the public informed of any developments and advised individuals against disseminating false information.
