Kaduna’s state government has confirmed that 32 villagers were killed in the Kajuru Local Government Area.
According to a statement made public on Thursday by Samuel Aruwan, the commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs,
the villages of Dogon Noma, Ungwan Sarki and Ungwan Maikori in Kajuru Local Government Area were attacked on Sunday by bandits,” the statement said.
There have been reports that the bandits rode into the area on motorcycles and set fire to a number of homes before killing a number of the residents.
There has been a constant flow of information from security agencies and traditional leaders in the areas since Sunday’s attack.
32 people have been confirmed dead as of this report, according to a statement from the organisation.
A report claiming that terrorists used a helicopter to kill the victims of the attack was published while the government mourned the gruesome killing and destruction of homes.

Following reports since Sunday, Kaduna’s government wants to clarify its position. Attacks on the first two locations resulted in the deaths of 31 people from the bandits. Once in Ungwan Maikori, they killed one person and set fire to several residences. Operation Whirl Punch dispatched an Air Force helicopter to the area, which earlier scanned the first two locations and discovered a smoky scene of burning houses and other structures on fire.
At their final location (Ungwan Maikori), the bandits were intercepted by the helicopter and engaged before ground troops arrived in the general area.
This air asset’s arrival stopped the bandits from further attacks on the villagers after the bandits already killed one local and destroyed several homes.
A helicopter did not provide air support to the bandits in their fight against the locals, as claimed. ”
According to the Kaduna State government after reviewing all facts, it’s regrettable that a section of the media would publish an unverified report that could have serious consequences for national security and law and order.
Those who witnessed a helicopter aiding bandits in the killings of innocent citizens are invited to present their accounts to the Government, backed by indisputable evidence.
Demoralizing allegations should not be directed at those who serve in military, law enforcement, or other government agencies operating in the area.”
At least one notable terrorist has been wounded in the last 72 hours and is being sought by security forces in the same general area.”
Additionally, several kidnapped victims, including an expatriate kidnapped at a mining site, were rescued after a fierce battle with bandits.
After learning of the attack, Governor Nasir El-Rufa’i expressed his condolences and prayed for God’s mercy on the families of the victims.” According to the statement, he also offered his deepest sympathies to the victims’ families.
