A soldier assigned to provide security for the expatriate, as well as his driver, were also killed by the kidnappers.

The kidnappers stormed a construction site in Ogbonmo, Ijebu-Owo, at around 5 p.m. on Wednesday, according to a source. The expatriate, who is reportedly a contractor at the construction site, was kidnapped.
The kidnappers followed the Lebanese contractor to the construction site, where they shot the Soldier and the driver before whisking their victim away to an unknown destination, according to a source who is also a worker at the site.
“The white engineer, as we call him, has been kidnapped. His driver and security guard were both killed. The gunmen arrived at the site around 5 p.m. on Wednesday and fired numerous shots into the air.

“When we heard gunshots, we all fled the scene.” Those who arrived were six or seven years old and wore masks.
“It wasn’t until some of us returned to the site after more than two hours that we saw the soldier and the driver’s bodies.”

“There was no sign of the White engineer. The police were later summoned, and they transported the bodies to the town’s hospital,” the source said.
Funmilayo Odunlami, a spokesman for the State Police Command, said that efforts were still being made to secure the victim’s release.
