Gunmen kidnap a naval officer in Kogi

Unknown gunmen are said to have abducted a Nigerian Navy officer in Kogi State.
According to reports on Tuesday morning, Musa Lawal, a Naval officer with enlistment number X12775 ABRP3, was abducted on Monday night.
According to reports, at around 8:00 p.m. yesterday, the officer serving with the Naval Headquarters in Abuja was whisked away from his residential home located behind Post Flood Housing Estate in Lokoja.

Before breaking into Lawal’s house, the assailants are said to have destroyed his doors and windows.

The Naval officer was scheduled to leave for his station this morning before the unfortunate incident occurred, according to reports.

The kidnappers are said to have contacted the victim’s wife an hour after the kidnapping and demanded a ransom of three million naira.

Juliana Ida Musa, the wife of the kidnapped naval personnel, told reporters that one of her husband’s hands was bleeding when he was taken away.

SP Williams Ayah, the state Police Public Relations Officer, who was also contacted, stated that the command has yet to be informed of the incident, but that he will inquire with the relevant DPOs.
