Ejigbo,Lagos — The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, popularly known as TAT,has waded into the fracas between residents of the area and personnel of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident, which reportedly occurred in the course of an emergency operation, sparked tension in the community and drew the attention of the council leadership.

Reacting to the development, Aare TAT, in a statement released by the Public Affairs Unit of Ejigbo LCDA, urged both residents and fire service officials to exercise restraint and avoid any action that could heighten tension or disrupt public peace.

According to the chairman, maintaining peace and mutual respect between the public and government institutions is critical to effective service delivery, especially during emergencies.

“Dialogue remains the best option in resolving differences. We must promote understanding and respect for constituted authorities if we truly want a peaceful and progressive Ejigbo,” TAT said.

He stressed that emergency situations require cooperation, not confrontation, noting that the primary focus at such moments should be saving lives and protecting property.

“The safety of lives and property must always come first. That is why collaboration between the community and emergency responders is not optional; it is essential,” he added.

The council boss further assured residents that his administration is fully committed to safeguarding lives and ensuring peaceful coexistence across all communities in Ejigbo.

He called on both parties to embrace constructive engagement over confrontation, insisting that disagreements should be resolved amicably without undermining the operations of emergency services.
