In Anambra, a pregnant Hausa woman and her children were brutally murdered.

“We strongly condemn this killing,” MURIC said. It is heinous, horrifying, and barbaric. No family deserves to be extinguished in this way.

“We demand that security agencies track down the killers and prosecute them. Simultaneously, we call on all men of conscience to speak out and condemn this murder.

“We specifically request that the British Embassy in Nigeria, as well as other Western sources, condemn this heinous act with the same vehemence with which they have condemned other killings.”

“In the same vein, we call on all social critics who have condemned other heinous acts to speak out against this latest atrocity.”

“We demand that comments on Nigerian events be fair. Selective condemnation of evil will not bring peace to Nigeria or the rest of the world.

“In the meantime, we urge Northerners to refrain from retaliating.” Only vengeance will start a cycle of violence. Nigeria requires peace at this critical juncture. As a result, no one should engage in retaliatory killing. It will only exacerbate the situation.”
