…Says Lagos Must Sustain Model Of Religious Tolerance and Inclusive Growth

Ikeja, Lagos— The Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, has felicitated Muslim faithful across the state on the occasion of this year’s Eid Maulud celebration.
In a goodwill message on Tuesday, Ojelabi described Eid Maulud as a moment to reflect on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), whose virtues of peace, compassion, justice, humility and tolerance remain relevant to nation building.
The APC Chairman noted that the Prophet’s message continues to inspire millions worldwide and provides a guide for harmonious living.
“Eid Maulud provides an important opportunity to reflect on the life, teachings and exemplary virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW),” he said.
“His emphasis on peace, compassion, justice, humility, tolerance, honesty and respect for others remains profoundly relevant to the pursuit of a harmonious and prosperous society.”
He urged the Muslim community to draw renewed inspiration from those values and continue to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and understanding among people of different faiths and backgrounds.
Ojelabi commended Muslims for their contributions to the growth of communities and the development of Lagos State, as well as their active participation in the affairs of the APC.
“Lagos has always been a model of diversity, inclusiveness and peaceful religious coexistence,” he stated.
“This strength must continue to be nurtured through dialogue, tolerance and a shared commitment to the development of our communities and the progress of our dear State.”
He encouraged party members and residents to remain committed to the ideals of unity, service, compassion and collective responsibility as the state works toward a more prosperous and inclusive Lagos.
The Lagos APC Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the prayers and acts of worship of Muslim faithful during the celebration.
“May the blessings of this Eid Maulud bring renewed hope, peace and prosperity to all Muslim faithful and to Lagos State,” he added.
“May Allah grant us peace in our homes, strengthen our families, bless our communities and continue to guide our leaders with wisdom and sound judgment.”
