The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, has congratulated Muslim faithful in Lagos State and across Nigeria on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, unity, love, and tolerance for national progress.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the State Executive Committee and the leadership of the party in Lagos State, Ojelabi described Eid-el-Kabir as a sacred festival that reflects total obedience to God and unwavering faith, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
He encouraged Muslims and Nigerians in general to reflect on the deeper lessons of the season and apply them in promoting peace, harmony, and development in the country. Quoting the Holy Qur’an, Surah Al-Hajj (22:37), he stressed that true sacrifice lies in piety and devotion to God.
According to the Lagos APC Chairman, the festive period presents an opportunity for sober reflection, compassion, and renewed dedication to peaceful coexistence and nation-building.
Ojelabi also called on party faithful and residents of Lagos State to continue supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in their drive towards sustainable development, economic prosperity, and improved welfare for citizens.
“The lessons of Eid-el-Kabir remind us of the importance of sacrifice, patience, and steadfastness in overcoming challenges. As a people, we must remain united, hopeful, and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous Lagos and Nigeria,” he said.
He further appealed to Nigerians to use the occasion to pray for peace, stability, and progress in the country, while encouraging Muslims to celebrate responsibly and extend support to the less privileged.
Ojelabi went further to reaffirm the commitment of the Lagos APC leadership to good governance, grassroots development, and the continued advancement of Lagos State.
He wished Muslim faithful a peaceful, joyful, and fulfilling Eid-el-Kabir celebration, saying, “Eid Mubarak!”
