Delta Police Command Forges Stronger Ties With Army, NDLEA To Tackle Insecurity.

The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi,on Monday, 27 April 2026, led the Command Management Team on separate courtesy visits to the 63 Brigade Nigerian Army and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Delta State Command, to reinforce inter-agency collaboration against crime.

During both meetings, CP Oyeniyi noted that offences such as kidnapping, armed robbery, child trafficking, and drug-related crimes are interlinked and require a unified, intelligence-led approach.

He thanked both agencies for their continued support and urged deeper cooperation, stressing that no single agency can solve security challenges in isolation.

At the NDLEA Command, he highlighted drug trafficking and abuse as key drivers of crime and a serious threat to young people, calling for joint action to curb the menace.

Responding, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General M.A Shonibare, and the NDLEA State Commander, CN Halilu Hamidu, praised the Delta State Police Command’s efforts and pledged continued partnership.

Both emphasized intelligence sharing, joint operations, and institutional cooperation as vital to sustaining peace and security.

Investigator news reports that the visits reaffirm the Command’s commitment to strengthening inter-agency synergy and ensuring a coordinated approach to crime prevention and public safety across Delta State.
