Odi Olowo-Ojuwoye— As schools prepare to resume for a new academic session, the Executive Chairman of Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA, Hon. Dr. Seyi Jakande, has flagged off a school supplies distribution programme to support pupils and ease the financial burden on parents.
The initiative, tagged“Back 2 School,Back 2 Pocket,”is part of the administration’s commitment to education, welfare and people-centred development across the nine wards of the LCDA.
Dr. Jakande said the start of a new session often comes with heavy expenses for parents and guardians.
“Education must come first. This programme is designed to put smiles on the faces of our children while reducing costs for families. We are providing school bags, exercise books, pens, pencils and other essential materials so our pupils can resume with confidence,” he said.
He noted that supporting learners at the grassroots is key to building a stronger future for Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye.
Investigator news reports that the distribution will hold on Thursday, 10th September, 2026 by 9:00am at Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye Local Council Development Area Secretariat
Beneficiaries drawn from across the LCDA will receive learning materials to help them start the term fully equipped.
Parents and community leaders at the announcement applauded the gesture, saying it will go a long way in helping families prepare children for school.
The council reiterated that under the leadership of Hon. Dr. Seyi Jakande, Òdì-Olowo/Ojuwoye LCDA remains committed to “Service to the People… Prosperity for All” through targeted interventions in education and welfare.
