Atiku Abubakar wins PDP presidential primary

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who served as Vice President in the past, has emerged as the front-runner to become the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for the general election in 2023.

During the presidential primary of the largest opposition party, which took place on Saturday in Abuja, the nation’s capital city, Atiku was able to secure the much-sought-after nomination.

His nearest opponent, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who received 237 votes, was defeated by him with a total of 371 votes polled in the election. After him came Bukola Saraki, who had previously served as president of the Senate and received 70 votes.
