………As Mazi Chuks Nwosu Pledges Unity, Empowerment

The Abia State Town Union Association (ASTUA), Lagos Branch has officially inaugurated it’s newly elected leadership with Mazi Chuks Nwosu, Ph.D.,as its new President General.
The event held on Sunday 22, February 2026 at the House of Shepherd Hall, Lakeview Estate,Amuwo Odofin Lagos attracted dignitaries, community leaders, political leaders,members of the Hon Okey Joe Foundation and friends.
In his acceptance speech,Mazi Chuks accepted the mandate to lead the Abia State Town Union Association (ASTUA) Lagos Branch, promising to transform it into a beacon of excellence, unity, and development.
He went further to outlined his vision to unite Abians in Lagos, foster inclusivity, and drive community development.
Nwosu who pledged to serve with integrity, transparency, and dedication, stated that his mission will not stop at unity; it will extend to empowerment and progress as he will invest in the youth—the leaders and innovators of tomorrow—by creating mentorship programmes, entrepreneurship bootcamps, leadership workshops, and career guidance initiatives.
Chuks who is the Special Adviser on Media and Communication to Ho Okey Joe (House of Rep.Member representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency 2) noted that his administration will enhance welfare through social support programmes, healthcare services, and advocacy.” In education, we will provide support systems for our children, from scholarships to partnerships with schools, ensuring access to quality education and academic success.”,emphasizing that leadership is about service and impact.

Investigator news reports that the ASTUA Lagos branch is a socio-cultural organization that brings together people from Abia State living in Lagos, and Mazi Chuks Nwosu’s leadership is expected to take the organization to greater heights.
As the new President General of ASTUA Lagos branch, Mazi Chuks Nwosu will lead the union for a fixed tenure of 3 years, working closely with other stakeholders to promote the interests of Abia people in Lagos.
Earlier, the outgoing president, Prince Ejituru Ikenga(Enyi Abia State)in his hand over speech thanked the people of Abia indigenes in Lagos for their perseverance and wonderful support giving to him during his administration as President General.
Prince Ejituru noted that his leadership started in November 2019 and part of his reign were marred with the COVID 19 pandemic as most of activities commenced towards the end of 2020.
He opined that his administration improved the welfare and finance of the association, established a cordial relationship with the state government through the Lagos State liaison officer,Hon Mrs Ugochi Essenette as the government provided a free Christmas/new year free transportation for Abians in Lagos and by extension Southwest States.
Ejituru while congratulating Mazi Chuks Nwosu and other Executives on their victory went further to advise the newly inaugurated executives to improve and do more than the former administration, wishing them a successful tenure.
He also urge all members of ASTUA Lagos branch to rally behind their new leader and work together to achieve their goals.

It will be recalled that Abia State founded in 1991 following the creation of the state from Imo State,ASTUA has in various capacity stood as a platform for Abia indigenes residing in Lagos,with the new leadership propelled to take ASTUA to a new heights, thereby making it a model for community development, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment.
The Woman leader Mrs Uchenna Igbokwe urge the indigenes to make good use of the widow opportunity by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)to secure their voters card in ensuring that they vote the right candidate come 2027.
Highlight of the ceremony was the inauguration of the newly elected executives including the women’s wing as prayers were offered to the new executives.
Investigator news gathered that the election was held on Saturday 25, October 2025,in Lagos which was closely monitored by the Abia State government and other stakeholders, and was declared free, fair, and transparent by the electoral committee led by Nze Frank Idika.
The newly inaugurated executives include Mazi Chuks Nwosu (President General),Mr Valentine Agbanyim(Ist Vice President),Mr Chidi Obasi(2nd Vice President),Mr Douglas Egwu(Sec Gen).
Women’s Wing include Evangelist Mrs Uchenna Igbokwe(Woman leader),Mrs Ngozi Isabella Kanu(Asst Woman leader),Mrs Chikodiri Eletuo(Secretary),Mrs Ngwobia Comfort Onyema(Asst Secretary),Dr Gina Abraham- Ibe( PRO),Mrs Erete Roseline Chimtua(Treasurer),Mrs Victoria Ogbonna (Fin.Sec),Mrs Chukwuko Cynthia Nnenna(Asst Fin.Sec),Elder Mrs Vivian Ojiji(Welfare 1),Mrs Nwoke Jacinta (Welfare 2),Mrs Stella Atubi(Welfare 3),Chigbundu Matilda (Provost)
