The Kogi East APC Justice Forum has accused the Minister of Steel Development, Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, of allegedly working against the unity and stability of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi East following the party’s senatorial primary election.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the group alleged that the Minister became unhappy after his in-law, Jibrin Isah Echocho, lost the APC senatorial primary election, which the Forum described as transparent, credible, and peacefully conducted.
The Forum further claimed that despite being a prominent stakeholder in the party, the Minister allegedly boycotted the primary election and failed to participate in the democratic process.
According to the group, it was disturbing that a serving Minister who reportedly stayed away from the exercise was now allegedly linked to moves capable of creating disunity within the APC in Kogi East.
The Forum maintained that the leadership of the APC in Kogi State provided equal opportunities for all aspirants to contest freely and commended party members for their maturity and peaceful conduct throughout the exercise

The group also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to request the Minister’s Ward and Local Government election results from the last Kogi governorship election, insisting that political relevance should be measured by electoral contribution and grassroots acceptance.
Reaffirming its support for the APC leadership in Kogi State, the Forum warned against any attempt to destabilise the party and urged members to remain united ahead of future political engagements.
