The Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo (TAT), has intensified the ongoing palliative rehabilitation of failed sections of the busy Isolo–Ejigbo–Ikotun Road, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing the daily lives of residents.
The intervention, currently underway at critical points along the road, is designed to provide immediate relief for thousands of motorists, commercial transport operators, pedestrians and business owners who rely on the strategic corridor for their daily activities.
The Chairman explained that the palliative repairs became necessary to reduce the hardship caused by deteriorating road conditions while the Federal Government continues work on the comprehensive reconstruction of the highway.
According to Aare TAT, no responsible government can ignore the challenges faced by its people, stressing that the council will continue to take practical steps to make life easier for residents wherever intervention becomes necessary.
“Our administration remains committed to ensuring that residents enjoy safer and more accessible roads. While we await the completion of the Federal Government’s reconstruction project, these palliative repairs will significantly improve traffic flow, reduce travel time, protect vehicles from unnecessary damage and promote safer movement for all road users,” he stated.
He noted that good road infrastructure is essential for economic growth, adding that improving the condition of major roads would boost commercial activities, facilitate easier movement of goods and services, and enhance the overall quality of life within Ejigbo LCDA.
Residents and motorists have expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing it as timely and responsive to the pressing needs of the community. Many noted that the repairs would help reduce traffic congestion, improve safety and lessen the burden on commuters who have endured difficult road conditions for months.
