Ahead of the 2027 Presidential election,the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will enjoy massive support in Kogi State because of his visible interventions and projects in the state.
He stated this on Friday 18, September 2026,while assessing the growing synergy between the Federal Government and the Kogi State Government.
Fanwo said the President’s goodwill in Kogi is further boosted by the outstanding performance of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, a combination that will make it difficult for opposition parties to gain ground in the state.
According to the Commissioner, the Tinubu administration has given Kogi people tangible reasons to appreciate it through major interventions in infrastructure, security, transportation, economic development and strategic investments.
He noted that the reconstruction of major federal highways linking Kogi to other parts of the country, support for security operations to tackle insecurity, and development of strategic economic infrastructure have strengthened the partnership between Abuja and Lokoja.
Fanwo explained that Governor Ododo has complemented the President’s efforts with massive investments in roads, healthcare, education, agriculture, security and rural development across the state.
The Commissioner stressed that the combination of federal interventions and state-level achievements has provided the All Progressives Congress (APC) with a solid record to campaign with ahead of 2027.
“With what the President has done in Kogi State, it’ll be difficult for other presidential candidates to mount a serious campaign in the State on moral ground.
“The President has given Kogi people reasons to appreciate his administration. The people can see the projects, the interventions and the opportunities that his administration has brought to the State.
“Politics is important, but development is more important. The people are interested in what the government is doing to improve their lives and expand opportunities for their children,” Fanwo said.
He added that Kogi people are keenly watching the benefits of the Federal-State partnership and understand the need for continuity to complete ongoing projects.
“We need continuity in the partnership between the Federal Government and the State Government. We need the roads to be completed. We need the airport to become operational.
We need our economic corridors to expand. We need more investments and more opportunities for our young people. That’s why continuity matters,” he stated.
Fanwo assured that the APC will continue to engage with the people and effectively communicate the achievements of both the Tinubu and Ododo administrations as the 2027 general elections draw closer.
