Abuja, Nigeria — The Forum of Governing Council Members in Nigeria Tertiary Institutions, FOGOCOM, has declared total support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 and has launched a nationwide mobilisation campaign to consolidate support for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The declaration was made during a strategic nationwide briefing convened by the Forum’s leadership to review progress, assess developments in the education sector, and outline plans for deeper grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The National Chairman of FOGOCOM, Chief (Dr.) Akin-Thomas Babajide,commended members for their loyalty and commitment to good governance, educational development and nation-building. 
He noted that the achievements recorded under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda have provided a strong foundation for economic growth, educational reforms, infrastructure development and improved governance nationwide.
According to him, FOGOCOM remains a strategic platform of experienced leaders, policymakers, governing council members and professionals dedicated to strengthening Nigeria’s tertiary education system and advancing national progress.
The Chairman charged members to serve as ambassadors of positive change in their communities and institutions by promoting the achievements of the APC-led administration and encouraging greater citizen participation in governance.
Investigator news reports that a major highlight of the briefing was the forthcoming FOGOCOM–TSG National Conference,scheduled for September 29, 2026, at the NAF Conference Centre, Abuja.
The conference is expected to draw distinguished stakeholders from government, academia, industry, development agencies and the private sector to deliberate on critical issues affecting tertiary education, governance, leadership development, institutional effectiveness and sustainable national growth.

In preparation for the conference, the Forum announced a strategic physical meeting of the Steering Committee and Finance Committee for Monday, September 7, 2026, at 2:00 PM in Abuja.
Committee Chairmen have been directed to attend personally or nominate representatives as critical decisions on logistics, funding, partnerships and programme coordination will be taken.
