The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has announced plans to honour Bro. Zakariyah Muiz Olumide, the overall winner of the highly acclaimed “I Know My Deen” Competition, with a special decoration as the One-Day President of NASFAT.
The symbolic recognition ceremony will take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the NASFAT Asalatu Headquarters, Alausa, Lagos, as part of activities heralding the commencement of the Society’s week-long Education Week.
In a release signed by the National Public Relations Secretary,Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society,Alhaji Shamsideen Owolabi, Zakariyah, a 19-year-old 200-Level student of the University of Ilorin, emerged victorious in the competition after demonstrating exceptional knowledge of Islam, intellectual depth, and commendable dedication to learning.
His remarkable achievement has been widely celebrated within NASFAT as an inspiring example of the transformative power of education, discipline, and commitment to the Deen.
Congratulating the young scholar on his outstanding accomplishment,President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulWahid AbdulRauf,described the award as a fitting recognition of excellence and perseverance.
He noted that Zakariyah’s success reflects the immense potential within NASFAT’s youth constituency and reaffirmed the Society’s commitment to creating opportunities that encourage young people to pursue knowledge, character development, and leadership.
Speaking on the initiative, the National Education Secretary, Alhaja Nurat Jolaoso, stated that NASFAT recognises and celebrates academic excellence in all its ramifications.
According to her, the One-Day Presidency initiative is designed not only to reward outstanding performance but also to inspire other young members to strive for excellence in education, personal development, and service to humanity. She emphasized that knowledge remains one of the strongest foundations for leadership and societal progress.
The Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Marufdeen AbdulAzeez Onike, offered prayers for the young scholar, asking Almighty Allah to increase him in beneficial knowledge, wisdom, humility, and righteousness.
He also prayed that Allah would make him a source of pride to his family, NASFAT, the Muslim Ummah, and the nation at large. Imam Onike further urged young Muslims to emulate Zakariyah’s commitment to learning and moral excellence, noting that the future belongs to those who combine faith, knowledge, and service.
The One-Day Presidency is expected to provide Zakariyah with a unique leadership and mentorship experience through interactions with senior NASFAT leaders and participation in selected organisational activities.
Beyond celebrating an individual achievement, the initiative underscores NASFAT’s enduring commitment to youth empowerment, educational advancement, and the development of future leaders who will contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Ummah and society.
